April showers brings May flowers! Last week of March was a wet one! So happy to have the rain to deeply water the soil and the seedlings coming up. We have the Hillside beds completely planted and mulched. Lettuces are fluffing up and we have some ready for market. Lots of other goodies growing while I patiently wait...and just keep planting.
Our beautiful soon to be mama goat, "Jewel" will be the first to kid in a few days. We are so excited! She is so BIG! The baby chicks are a month old now and happily cheeping all day long. The chickens are producing beautiful eggs with rich yolks. This is the third week we've offered them in the CAFE locally grown market.
The Nettles are growing so fast! I have already made a few batches of dried loose tea and created a pesto for a zucchini pasta dish. YUM! Check out the various Salad Mixes on the locally grown sites to decide what delights you. Spring greens are the best!
